Trade union is at stake

Trade union leaders are working in the formal organized sectors. But gradually, this formal organized sectors are reducing. Due to economic transformation, commercial organizations are moving from domestic marketing to global marketing to transnational marketing. For this reason, more informal sectors are supposed to grow. At this juncture, what will be role of trade Union as there will be less number of organized sectors ?

IMPORTANCE OF TRADE UNION
Trade unions exist because an individual worker has very little power to influence decisions that are made about his or her job. By joining together with other workers, there is more chance of having a voice and influence

OBJECTIVES OF UNION
1. To improve the wages
2. To safeguard and improve the standards of working people
3. To campaign for laws and policies which will benefit working people.

PROBLEMS OF TRADE UNION
1) Sectionalism,
2) Competition for members,
3) Demarcation of work, and
4) Lack of a coordinated policy.
